Senator Lere Kamorudeen Oyewumi Observes Eid al-Adha Prayers at Ikire Central Eid Ground ‎

‎The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate and Mayegun Adinni of Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency, Senator Lere Kamorudeen Oyewumi, PhD, joined Muslim faithful to observe the Eid al-Adha prayers at the Ikire Central Eid Praying Ground in his hometown of Ikire, Osun State.

‎Senator Oyewumi was accompanied by notable political and community leaders, including the Chairman of Irewole Local Government, Hon. Jide Jooda; Hon. Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji, Member of the Osun 8th Assembly representing Irewole/Isokan State Constituency; Hon. Safiriyu Akinpelu Kolawole, former Caretaker Chairman of Irewole North East; and Aare Jolaiye Moshood. The presence of several party chieftains and respected community figures added to the significance of the event.

‎Leading the Eid prayers, the Chief Imam of Ikire Kingdom, Imam Muslim Oladimeji Oladiran, delivered a sermon centered on the values of sacrifice, peace, and compassion. He urged the Muslim faithful to emulate the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), especially by caring for their neighbours, the less privileged, and the vulnerable in society.

‎In his remarks, Senator Oyewumi emphasized the importance of unity, compassion, and selflessness during the Eid season. He called on well-meaning Nigerians to extend prayers and acts of charity to those in need, stressing that the essence of Eid al-Adha is rooted in sacrifice and love for fellow humans.

‎“Let us all remember to be our brothers’ keepers, show love to everyone regardless of background, and give generously to the vulnerable in our communities,” Senator Oyewumi stated.
