In a resounding display of unity and confidence, political leaders and stakeholders across the ten Local Government Areas of Osun West Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed Governor Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke for a second term in office.

The endorsement, delivered during a high-profile gathering at the Osun West Senatorial Office in Iwo, brought together prominent figures and representatives of various political and social groups within the district.

In his opening remarks, Osun West Senatorial Chairman, Chief Adesoye Oyetunde, welcomed attendees and praised Governor Adeleke’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye—who represented the Governor—for his strategic leadership and tireless service. He also commended political appointees from Osun West for their effective representation and contributions to state development.

Leading the endorsement, Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, described Governor Adeleke’s administration as “transformational,” marked by “unprecedented infrastructural renewal, economic revitalization, and transparent governance.” “Governor Adeleke is delivering beyond expectations,” Senator Oyewumi stated. “This is more than an endorsement of a person—it is a vote for continued progress, prosperity, and purposeful leadership.”

Echoing this sentiment, former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinade Akinbade, emphasized the need for continuity: “You don’t change a winning team. Osun needs sustained transformation, not regression.”

The motion to endorse Governor Adeleke was moved by Alhaji Alidu Tiamiyu Adeoye, former Senatorial Chairman and current PDP Chairman of Iwo Local Government, highlighting the Governor’s achievements in rural development, job creation, and SME empowerment. The motion was seconded by Barrister Ebenezer Bolarinwa, State Legal Adviser, with co-seconders including:

Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, Commissioner for Water Resources (on behalf of Commissioners)

Hon. Odelade (Special Advisers from Osun West)

Chief Mrs. Atinuke Oyawoye (Women’s groups)

Hon. Olakunle Paul (National Ex-Officio)

Hon. Araoye Sikiru (Southwest Ex-Officio)

Hon. Mudashiru Lukman, (on behalf of House of Representatives members from Osun West), also voiced unanimous support for the Governor’s re-election bid.

In response, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, speaking on behalf of Governor Adeleke, expressed deep appreciation for the support and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth. “We’ve laid the foundation—now it’s time to build higher. Let’s not slow down. Let’s go further, together,” Akinleye said, urging citizens to sustain their support and vote en masse in the upcoming election.

This unanimous endorsement signals strong grassroots momentum behind Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid and underscores the widespread approval of his leadership across Osun West.
