Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Distinguished Senator Lere Kamorudeen Oyewumi, has congratulated the Government and people of Osun State on the celebration of the State’s 34th anniversary. Senator Oyewumi specially commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for redefining leadership through people centered governance, remarkable development strides, and prioritization of citizens’ welfare. He noted that Osun, under Adeleke, has entered a new phase of growth and stability anchored on transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness.
Highlighting Adeleke’s achievements, Senator Oyewumi cited the remarkable leap in Osun’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), which grew from ₦25.3 billion in 2023 to ₦54.7 billion in 2024, as revealed in the recently released Financial Statements and Accounts. According to him, this surge reflects the administration’s financial discipline, accountability, and developmental focus.
Senator Oyewumi praised the government’s massive road rehabilitation and construction projects, improved healthcare delivery, investments in education, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, and strides in rural development. He pointed to electricity projects, boreholes, and rural access roads that have brought governance closer to previously neglected communities, stressing that Adeleke’s pro-masses policies are reviving the economy, uplifting living standards, and ensuring that Osun people can truly “see and feel governance at work.”
While acknowledging the contributions of past leaders, Senator Oyewumi maintained that Adeleke’s administration has brought renewed energy, creativity, and sustainable policies aligned with the dreams of the State’s founding fathers. He described the Governor’s focus on human capital growth and sustainable development as the right path toward a prosperous Osun.
The Deputy Senate Minority Leader also charged all indigenes of Osun and Nigerians at large to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), stressing that voting is both a civic duty and a fundamental right. He prayed for divine wisdom for Governor Adeleke and urged the people to continue supporting the government for a brighter and greater Osun.
