The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Akogun Lere Kamorudeen Oyewumi, has been honoured with the Distinguished Osun Youth Ambassador Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth development and empowerment.
The award was presented to the Senator by Hon. Aare Abdulmajeed Oladimeji Oyeniyi, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Affairs, and Hon. Moses Adewuyi, Technical Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth at his country home.
The recognition formed part of activities under the Osun Youth Stakeholders 2025 Initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, themed “Youth Inclusion, Participation, and Decision-Making in Osun State.” According to the organisers, Senator Oyewumi was chosen for his consistent support of youth-focused policies and his efforts to promote inclusive governance where young people have a voice in shaping the future of the state.
Speaking after receiving the award, Senator Oyewumi expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the youth stakeholders, pledging his continued commitment to creating opportunities that would enhance the capacity, participation, and leadership of young people across Osun State.
