Oyewumi Honours Late Adetoyese Laoye Family at 50th Memorial Anniversary

‎The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Olalere Oyewumi, PhD, has paid glowing tribute to the family of the late HRH Oba John Adetoyese Laoye, the 22nd Timi of Ede, at the 50th Memorial Anniversary held in his honour.

‎Senator Oyewumi, who was flanked by his wife Erelu Oyewumi Omolara and the Osun State Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Festus Ademola Adeyemo, joined members of the royal family, traditional rulers, dignitaries and indigenes of Ede to celebrate the enduring legacy of the late monarch.

‎Speaking at the event, the Senate Deputy Minority Leader expressed profound gratitude to God for the meaningful and impactful life lived by the late Timi of Ede, describing him as a revered traditional ruler whose reign contributed immensely to peace, unity and cultural development in Ede land and beyond.

‎Oyewumi also commended the Adetoyese Laoye family for keeping alive the memory and values of the late king through the memorial celebration, noting that remembering great leaders of the past serves as inspiration for present and future generations.

‎He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late monarch and urged the people of Ede to continue to uphold the noble traditions, values and unity for which Oba John Adetoyese Laoye was known.

‎The event was marked by cultural displays, prayers and reflections on the life and times of the late Timi of Ede, as dignitaries took turns to honour his enduring legacy.
